50 Avocado Recipes (For Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner)

The avocado is such a versatile fruit. There is so much more to avocado recipes than just guacamole and avocado toast!

Sure, they’re most people’s favorites, mine included!

Homemade Avocado Toast with Fried Egg and Spinach

But I’ve also been known to throw some green goodness into my smoothies, and I love how it makes my dressings silky smooth.

And did you know you can add avocado into desserts? It’s true!

Like bananas and applesauce, it can add moisture and replace heavy fats in everything from brownies to banana bread.

I’ve put together a list of 50 awesome avocado recipes that will cover you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Avocado Recipes For Breakfast

Avocado Smoothie

It’s always an option to add spinach or kale to make smoothies healthier.

But in truth, I don’t like the texture they leave behind.

Instead, I like to throw in half an avocado.

The subtle flavor will complement almost anything, and it gives the drink the creamiest texture.

Avocado Tomatillo Breakfast Tacos

Tacos for breakfast might seem a little over the top, but you’ll want them every day!

Scrambled eggs and avocado will give you the energy boost you need to make it through until lunch.

And the spinach will make you feel less guilty about that extra latte you had!

This honestly might be my favorite avocado recipe.

Chocolate Avocado Overnight Oats Jars

This recipe is pretty decadent for breakfast.

You’ll feel a little naughty indulging in so much chocolatey goodness so early.

I would suggest giving the avocado a blitz with the yogurt to make sure it’s nice and smooth.

And for an even healthier option, try topping it with sliced banana.

Avocado Quinoa Breakfast Muffins Recipe

Avocado and quinoa? I’ll take two!

These are full of almond, honey, chia seeds, and cinnamon.

They’re super moist and perfect for breakfast on-the-go.

Baked Eggs in Avocado – This hearty breakfast offers up a new way to serve eggs. When combined with avocado it takes this staple food to a whole new level. A perfect warm meal that will see you through the morning.

Chilaquiles – Chilaquiles are guaranteed to make any morning special. Wake up the whole family with this spicy start to the day. No matter if they are rojo or verde (red or green) they are a delicious way to add some variety to the start of your day.

Avocado Breakfast Sandwich – No need to go to a restaurant when you can make these hearty sandwiches at home! With delicious layers of swiss cheese, fried egg, avocado, and cheddar cheese all on a toasted bun. It’s perfect for breakfast, but it also makes a quick and easy lunch or dinner.

Healthy Avocado Bowls

Kale, Black Bean, & Avocado Burrito Bowl

I don’t always love the heaviness of a burrito and will often turn it into a burrito bowl.

They’re super versatile and can be modified with chicken, shrimp, and beef, to vegan-friendly spiced sweet potatoes and creamy guacamole.

Blueberry Avocado Granola Bowl

Given that we eat with our eyes first, gorgeous meals like this make mornings just a little brighter.

And it couldn’t be easier!

Once everything has been blitzed until smooth, you can top with crunchy granola and extra bananas for texture.

Broccoli Avocado Tuna Bowl

Even canned tuna can be upgraded if you do it right!

This simple avocado recipe needs just six ingredients and can be ready to eat in only 15 minutes.

Serve over cooked rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for a filling and easy lunch or dinner.

Mexican Buddha Bowl – This bowl offers a wonderful no-cook meal for any time of day. You cannot get a dish any easier to prepare or more flavor-packed.

Avocado Rice Bowl – Sometimes the simplest things in life are the most enjoyable. Such is the case with this no-fuss bowl. Feel free to dress it up any way that suits your style.

Avocado Salads

Simple Grapefruit & Avocado Salad

Gluten-free, paleo, and Whole30 approved, this salad is not only filling, it’s irresistible.

You wouldn’t think to put grapefruit and avocado together, but this dish really works.

The smooth, subtle flavor of the avocado perfectly complements the kick of the grapefruit.

And feel free to leave out the cilantro!

Avocado Corn Salad

This is one of my favorite dishes to bring to a BBQ.

The colors are so vibrant, and the sweet, crunchy corn pairs so well with the avocado and tomato.

I especially love the garlic and lime dressing.

Tomato Avocado Salad

This salad is pure joy!

It’s filled with avocado, sweet cherry tomatoes, peppery red onion, and a balsamic glaze that will leave you wanting to lick the bowl.

I like to serve it alongside grilled chicken or fish. It’s the perfect refreshing accompaniment to the charred flavor.

Fruit, Avocado, and Feta Salad

Much like avocado, feta cheese is super creamy.

In this dish, the cheese and avocado are complemented by the addition of sweet cranberries and crunchy almonds.

Everything about this salad screams sunshine, and it should be on the menu all summer long!

Artichoke Avocado Pasta Salad

If you’re looking for a pasta salad that isn’t loaded with mayo, this one’s for you.

I love how the artichoke amps up the flavor, especially when mixed into the honey mustard dressing.

Keep it vegetarian-friendly, or add some grilled chicken.

Guacamole Salad

Since it’s not acceptable to eat a bowl of guacamole with a spoon (much to my dismay), this salad makes the perfect alternative.

It combines everything you want out of guacamole – avocado, onion, tomato, lime, and a little spice – and mixes it into a crunchy, filling salad that will make any meal complete.

Shrimp and Avocado Salad – Shrimp and avocado are a perfect pair. This salad offers proof. It is the ideal salad when you are entertaining guests.

Caprese Avocado Salad – Chicken offers a protein boost to make this salad a meal. So tasty you will not even think of it as healthy food.

Avocado Sandwich Recipes For an Easy Lunch

Avocado Egg Salad

Much like a traditional pasta salad, egg salad usually includes a lot of mayonnaise.

Mayo is delicious, don’t get me wrong. But it’s not the healthiest option.

That’s why I love using avocado in its place.

The only downside is that it won’t last as long and needs to be kept in an airtight container to prevent it from browning too fast.

Avocado Tuna Salad Sandwich

If you’re not adding sprouts to your sandwiches, I suggest you give it a try.

They add such a pleasant texture and are much more fun than boring lettuce!

This salad is super filling and can be eaten right out of the bowl. But it’s extra special on a bagel!

Crispy Chicken and Avocado Wraps

These can be made in a skillet, and they’ll be delicious.

But I can guarantee you won’t regret buying a panini press.

Either way, you can make up a batch of these in just 10 minutes!

You can keep it mellow and follow the recipe, or add in some chopped jalapenos for a spicy kick.

Avocado Grilled Cheese – If you are looking for a new way to enjoy this classic sandwich, you have come to the right place. Adding avocado makes the sandwich a creamy delight to eat.

Peruvian Triple Sandwiches – Despite the name, this sandwich would be ideal when treating yourself to an English high tea. It adds an exotic twist to classic ingredients.

Avocado Shrimp Flatbread Sandwich – This is a fresh and easy sandwich that is guaranteed to satisfy any hunger pangs. Flatbread is a wonderful alternative to traditional sandwich bread.

The Perfect Avocado Appetizers

Avocado Bruschetta with Balsamic Reduction

Is this avocado toast? Not quite.

Admittedly, I do add cherry tomatoes to my avocado toast, but this has chunks of avocado, so it’s a little different.

The balsamic glaze is the real star here, making those tomatoes pop.

For an extra flavor boost, try rubbing your toast with some garlic.

Fried Avocado Wedges with Wasabi-Lime-Mayo Dipping Sauce

I have to admit that this particular avocado recipe isn’t for everyone.

The texture is quite unusual, with the crispy breadcrumbs and super soft center.

But if you’re an avocado lover, they’ll quickly become your favorite.

And I’m sure the dipping sauce will make it onto your table for plenty more dishes.

The Best Guacamole

This is a bold claim, I know.

The truth is, guacamole is always going to be good, and everyone has their own preferences.

But I just love the simplicity of a little heat with some fresh lime and plenty of sea salt.

Avocado Hummus

This is precisely what it sounds like. It’s everything you love from hummus, combined with creamy avocado.

Making hummus really couldn’t be easier, and I love being able to control the amount of garlic and salt that goes in.

This recipe is so good, I use it as a dip and even as a spread for my chicken sandwiches.

Creamy Avocado Soup

If you’re a fan of gazpacho, then you’ll love this avocado soup.

I often turn to soup for a filling lunch during the winter, but avoid it during the summer months.

This recipe is perfect for a fast lunch that’s chilled and full of flavor.

Avocado Caprese Crostini – The addition of avocado gives this Caprese an upscale twist. This appetizer will impress all your guests. Believe me, it is worth the little bit of extra effort to make this dish taste special.

Avocado Recipes for Lunch & Dinner

Healthy 5-Minute Avocado Toast

There’s a reason we all love avocado toast. It’s just super delicious!

The crunchy toast with creamy avocado and a perfectly cooked egg on top is the simplest, most indulgent little snack out there.

And don’t be shy with the chili flakes and sea salt! They make the whole dish pop.

Roasted Chickpea Avocado Toast

If nothing else, try the roasted chickpeas!

They make such a tasty, crunchy snack that is far healthier than that big bag of chips we’ve all got in the cupboard.

When added to avocado toast, it’s a whole other level of scrumptiousness!

Avocado Black Bean Quesadillas

Looking for meatless Monday inspiration?

Here it is!

Between the veggies, beans, and avocado, you won’t miss the meat in these incredible quesadillas.

Easy Shrimp Stuffed Avocado

I made this dish as a simple starter over the holidays, and it was such a hit!

It’s a great twist on the classic prawn cocktail, and it looks so cute served in the avocado skin.

I added a sprinkling of everything seasoning for color and a little crunch.

Avocado Pizza – Fear not pizza lovers. This is made super easy by using puff pastry. The final product will taste so good that everyone will think that it took a lot of effort.

Avocado Alfredo This unexpected sauce gives a traditional alfredo an upgrade. Tantalize all taste buds by adding this to the dinner routine.

Dressings and Sauces

Creamy Avocado Pesto

The first time I made pesto, I was taken aback by the amount of oil that went into it.

This version uses avocado instead for a creamier finish that is easier to make and healthier.

Since the avocado gets blended with lemon juice, it should last a few days in the fridge and can even be frozen for later use.

Avocado Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing

When I lived outside of the U.S., I often made my own ranch.

This is a much healthier version, using avocado and yogurt as the base but still giving you the ranch flavors we all love.

Avocado Desserts

Easy Avocado Ice Cream

Full of good fats and lacking that pesky cholesterol, avocados are an excellent substitution for many things.

But ice cream?

I was so pleasantly surprised by this recipe, and I think you will be, too.

Avocado Brownies

Brownies are definitely my weakness. I can’t have just one!

But with these, I feel guilt-free reaching for another piece.

They’re made with maple syrup, almond flour, and coconut sugar for a tasty treat that’s almost healthy!

Easy Avocado Truffles

Combining chocolate with avocados is the perfect way to get those good fats without compromising on flavor.

Avocado is so subtle that it lets the chocolate shine while adding moisture to any dish.

These truffles are gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo, and vegan.

Double Chocolate Avocado Banana Bread Recipe

Due to the avocado and bananas in this recipe, there is no need for butter or oil.

Although that doesn’t necessarily make this healthy because it’s loaded with chocolate.

But it will make you feel a little better as you cut a thick slice for breakfast.

Avocado Nutella

Nutella doesn’t last in my house.

One day it’s there, and the next, there’s an empty jar in the trash and a ring of chocolate around all our mouths.

So if I can make a batch that is just as good and contains some green goodness? Count me in!

Avocado Chocolate Mousse

Velvety smooth, rich, intensely flavorful, and completely irresistible, nobody will know this dessert is loaded with avocado.

There’s no need for warming eggs and folding through chocolate.

Just blend everything together and leave it to get nice and thick in the fridge.

Avocado Paletas (Avocado Ice Pops)

Much like the ice cream from above, these ice pops are such a delightful surprise addition to your summer popsicle game.

Sweetened with coconut milk and honey, the kids don’t have to know how healthy they really are.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Avocado Pudding – This dessert is uber creamy thanks to the combination of avocado and peanut butter. The fact that there is chocolate involved doesn’t hurt either.

Avocado Frosting Have you ever used a green frosting? No? Well, give it a try with this recipe. It looks vibrant and will add a special twist to any dessert.

Peanut Butter Avocado Cookies – This is a perfect way to change up an ordinary chocolate chip cookie. Keep the best parts of this classic dessert, while adding new flavours. The hardest part will be not devouring the entire batch.
