Tequila is synonymous with summer margaritas, but these fall tequila cocktails might just be better.
They’re boozy, beautiful, and effortlessly delicious.
Fall Tequila Cocktails & Drink Recipes
We just had the first snow of the season, which means it’s officially time for warm sweaters and open fires.
But why not warm yourself from the inside out with one of these tasty fall tequila cocktails?
Between the spiced margaritas, tequila sours, and even a warm, boozy coffee, you’ll crave these mixed drinks night after night.
1. Spicy Blood Orange Margarita
Blood oranges have a distinct and deep color that’s perfect for fall parties. Better yet, it infuses this delicious margarita recipe with a beautiful citrus flavor.
The bittersweet blood orange pairs perfectly with a little kick of jalapeño. But you can easily sweeten it up with a touch of simple syrup.
Ingredients: silver tequila, simple syrup, lime juice, blood orange juice, jalapeño slices, ice, Tajin & blood orange wheels (for garnish)
2. Fall Apple Cider Margarita
Nothing says “fall” quite like apple cider. But it’s time to take that cider to new tasty heights with a hint of tequila.
This cocktail recipe features your go-to brand of traditional apple cider mixed with classic margarita flavors.
That means lime, tequila, and Grand Marnier – plus a little brown sugar for good measure. Yum!
Ingredients: apple cider, tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, agave nectar, lime wedge, brown sugar, apple slices & rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
3. Smoky Harvest Apple Cider Margarita
If a traditional margarita isn’t hitting the spot this fall, this autumn cocktail should do the trick!
It has so many great fall flavors in one cold glass, including silver tequila, orange liquor, apple cider, and maple syrup.
If you want to make this an even smokier cocktail, go for mezcal instead of tequila!
Ingredients: mezcal or tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec, apple cider, lime juice, maple syrup, apple slices & cinnamon sticks (for garnish), cinnamon sugar & sea salt (for the rim)
4. Mexican Mule
I know I say this a lot, but this is one of my all-time faves! A fun twist on the classic Moscow Mule, it’s just as sweet, fresh, and bubbly.
But instead of vodka, you’ll use reposado tequila along with the usual lime juice and ginger beer.
It’s super simple but super delish. And the copper mugs are about as picture-perfect as it gets.
Ingredients: reposado tequila. lime juice, ginger beer, ice, lime wedge (for garnish)
5. The Chill of the Night
The name of this cocktail says it all: when the chill of the night finds you, warm up with a glass of this delicious drink.
Unfortunately, it does contain a few unusual bottles that you may not (and probably don’t) have on hand.
So you’ll need to make a trip to the liquor store if you want to give this a try. But the flavors of spiced honey, tequila, and bitters are well worth the effort.
Ingredients: reposado tequila, L’Aperitivo Nonino Botanical Drink, Becherovka liqueur, lemon juice. spiced honey syrup, 18.21 Prohibition Aromatic Bitters
6. Lights Out Punch
As the name suggests, it’ll be lights out after a couple of these deeply flavorful fall tequila cocktails.
It all starts with tea-infused Vermouth, which is super delicious on its own. To that, you’ll add tequila, apple juice, citrus, bitters, and sparkling water.
There’s a quick brown sugar syrup to help sweeten everything and bring some balance.
Ingredients: apple slices, cinnamon sticks, MarketSpice cinnamon-orange black tea, sweet Vermouth, reposado tequila, apple juice or apple cider, lemon juice, demerara syrup, Angostura bitters, Fee Brothers Old Fashioned bitters, club soda or seltzer, apple slices & cinnamon (for garnish)
7. Cinnamon Grapefruit Tequila Sour
If margaritas aren’t your thing, perhaps a tequila sour is?
This version calls for cinnamon and grapefruit, so it’s not as lip-puckering as the usual lemon drink. Though it’s still quite tart!
Don’t leave out the egg white in this gorgeous autumn cocktail. It adds no flavor but so much incredible texture to the drink.
And it’s not a real sour without the signature foam on top!
Ingredients: tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, cinnamon syrup, egg white, cinnamon stick (for garnish)
8. Aperol Paloma Cocktail
There’s nothing dull about this zesty cocktail. It has a slight tartness, a little sweetness, and so much to love!
Aperol bitters and orange liqueur give you plenty of zippy flavors to balance the sweet and sour grapefruit juice.
Meanwhile, the tequila and lime are just what you need to make it the best Paloma you’ve ever had.
And if you want to add a touch of fizz, top it off with a splash of Champagne, club soda, or seltzer.
Ingredients: silver tequila. ruby red grapefruit juice, Cointreau, Aperol, lime juice, ice cubes, lime wheel (for garnish)
9. Añejo Old Fashioned
A typical Old Fashioned is made with bourbon or whiskey, but this is one delicious twist.
With tequila at the center stage, it’s just as sweet and smoky with hints of fruit and toasty goodness.
Garnish with a twist of orange peel and a brandied cherry. It’s beautiful, simple, and full of flavor!
Ingredients: agave nectar, Angostura bitters, añejo tequila, orange peel, ice, brandied cherry (for garnish)
10. El Diablo Cocktail
If you enjoy fruity cocktails, this is the drink for you. Featuring blackberry, ginger, and lime with tequila, it’s spiced, boozy, and perfectly sweet.
But what about the name? Well, initially, this drink was served with the crème de cassis floating on top.
As it sank, it looked like blood, and the drink would eventually take on a deep, blood-red hue. Neat, huh?
Ingredients: tequila reposado, crème de cassis, lime juice, ginger beer
11. Añejo Tequila Hot Toddy
When the first snow hits, there’s nothing like a hot toddy by the fire. And when you make it with a shot of añejo tequila, it’s even better!
Add some tequila, orange liqueur, lemon, hot water, and spices to a mug with cloves and cinnamon, and you’re all set.
Garnish your drink with an orange rind to finish out the citrus flavor. Yum!
Ingredients: hot water, añejo tequila, lemon juice, honey, Cointreau, cinnamon stick & lemon wedge (for garnish)
12. Cinnamon Tequila Sour
What do you call the perfect drink for fall festivities? This super simple cinnamon tequila sour, of course!
You’ll shake egg whites again, giving it that luxurious froth on top.
But all you’ll taste is deep and intense cinnamon-spiced tequila!
Ingredients: tequila, simple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, egg white, ice
13. Mexican Coffee
Forget the usual Irish and warm up with a stunning Mexican coffee this fall.

14. Honey Pear Margarita
I don’t know about you, but just the sound of a honey pear margarita has me drooling!
Pear is an often underused fruit, especially in the fall. But this drink makes the best fall cocktail for any gathering or just a weekend at home!
There’s rosemary for herbal balance and cinnamon for that sweet and spiced flavor we all love.
So make a big pitcher and get ready to play bartender because everyone will want a glass.
Ingredients: pear juice, tequila, Triple Sec, honey, rosemary sprig (for garnish)
15. Cranberry Margarita With Apple-Cinnamon Tequila
Give your family a gift this Thanksgiving and serve these stunning spiced cranberry margaritas.
You’ll need to store apple slices and cinnamon in tequila – five to seven days should be long enough.
When it’s good and sweet, you can make these stunning Thanksgiving tequila cocktails recipe.
Ingredients: apple and cinnamon-infused tequila, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, lime juice, apple wedges & lime twists (for garnish)
16. Tequila Christmas Sunrise with Homemade Grenadine
I know this isn’t as vibrant as the OG tequila sunrise, but the flavors more than make up for the lack of color.
You’ll make Grenadine with pomegranate juice and sugar. Simmer it until the sugar dissolves, then add lemon juice.
Once that’s cold, you’ll shake some orange juice with tequila and pour it over ice. Then, carefully pour the Grenadine over the top.
How easy is that?
Ingredients: pomegranate juice, sugar, lemon juice, orange juice, tequila, cherries (for garnish)
17. Pumpkin Spice Margaritas
No list of fall drinks would be complete without pumpkin.
And since pumpkin spice is the king of autumn and margarita is the queen of tequila drinks, it only makes sense to marry the pair, right?
These babies feature real pumpkin puree, so every sip is like a spiced, tequila-infused piece of pie.
To keep that signature margarita flair, mix sea salt with cinnamon sugar for the rim.
Ingredients: reposado tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, pumpkin spice puree
