Why You’ll Love This Oreo Dip

Quick & Easy Party Pleaser: This crowd-pleasing dip is perfect for any gathering. It’s ready to serve right away and is sure to be a hit with Oreo lovers of all ages.

Customize It: Swap out the classic cookie for your favorite Oreo flavors, such as mint, birthday cake, or peanut butter. Or add mix-ins like mini chocolate chips or peanut butter chips for an extra flavor boost.

Make-Ahead Marvel: Prepare the dip up to a day in advance and store it in the fridge. That’ll make it even tastier for the big day.

Ingredients

  • Oreo Cookies: You’ll want a mix of crushed cookies and chunks for the best taste and texture.
  • Cream Cheese: Smooth, tangy, and creamy, it’s the base of the dip. Be sure to use full-fat!
  • Vanilla Extract: Enhances the overall flavor with its subtle sweetness and aromatic vanilla essence.
  • Powdered Sugar: Sweetens the dip and helps create a luscious consistency.
  • Cool Whip: Lightens the dip and adds an airy, whipped cream-like finish. Of course, you can also make real whipped cream!

How to Make Oreo Dip

Once you try this Oreo dip, you won’t be able to stop! It’s irresistibly delicious and will have everyone coming back for more.

And if you can work a hand mixer, you’re halfway there.

1. CRUSH: Place Oreos in a resealable bag and crush them into crumbs and pieces with a rolling pin. Set aside.

2. BEAT: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until fluffy.

3. FOLD: Gently fold the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

4. MIX: Add the crushed Oreos and fold until evenly distributed.

5. SERVE: Garnish with extra Oreos if desired and serve with assorted dippers. Or cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.

Tips For the Best Oreo Dip

You can dip all kinds of sweet treats in this dreamy dessert dip. I’m talking Graham Crackers, vanilla wafers, fruit, you name it.

I personally love it with pretzels for that salty-sweet combo. But before we get there, here are some handy tips to keep in mind.

  • Texture matters. Don’t pulverize the Oreos into fine crumbs. Crush them into small pieces, leaving some texture for the best cookies and cream experience.
  • Soften the cream cheese. Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature so it blends smoothly with the other ingredients. And don’t forget to scrape the bowl as you mix!
  • Fold gently. Use a rubber spatula to fold the cool whip into the cream cheese gently. Don’t use a mixer, or it’ll deflate.
  • Chill before serving. If not serving immediately, refrigerate the Oreo dip for at least 1 hour. This gives the flavors time to mingle.
  • Garnish the top. When ready to serve, garnish the top of the dip with additional crushed Oreos for an attractive presentation.

How to Store

Unfortunately, Oreo dip doesn’t freeze well. That’s down to the cream cheese, which often turns watery after thawing.

Luckily, though, it will be okay in the fridge for a few days.

To Store: Transfer leftover dip to an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Give it a good stir before serving to redistribute the crushed Oreos evenly throughout the dip. And feel free to add more if you want crunch.

With only five simple ingredients, this easy, no-bake Oreo dip comes together in a snap. Better yet, it tastes like cookies and cream cheesecake in dip form.

Ingredients

  • 18 Oreo cookies

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups Cool Whip, thawed (about 2/3 of an 8 ounce tub)

Instructions

  • Place the Oreos in a large, resealable plastic bag. Using a rolling pin, crush the cookies into crumbs and small pieces. It’s best to have a mixture for texture. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer on medium until smooth. Scrape the sides of the bowl, then mix in the powdered sugar, 1/4 cup at a time, on low speed. Add the vanilla, then beat again until smooth and fluffy.
  • Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  • Add the crushed Oreos to the bowl and fold them in until evenly distributed throughout the dip.
  • Transfer the Oreo dip to a serving bowl. If not serving immediately, cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  • When ready to serve, garnish the top of the dip with additional crushed Oreos if desired. Serve with your favorite dippers, such as vanilla wafers, graham crackers, pretzels, apple slices, or strawberries. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps.
  • Crush the Oreos into small pieces, but don’t completely pulverize them – having some cookie bits adds great texture.
  • Chill the dip for at least an hour before serving to let the flavors come together.
