How to Make Pizza Burgers

Making these burgers is a breeze! 

1. MAKE PATTIES. Mix the burger ingredients in a bowl then form into four patties.

2. COOK THE BURGERS. After resting for a few minutes, cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side.

3. PREP THE BUNS. Split the hamburger buns and place them cut side up on a baking sheet. Toast them lightly, then remove the tops. Warm the pizza sauce then spread it over each bottom bun, top them with cheese and pepperoni, and grill until melty.

4. ASSEMBLE. Place the burgers on the cheesy bottom buns and top them with more sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Broil until melty then carefully put the top halves in place.

5. SERVE HOT. Serve the burgers immediately while they’re still hot. Add a side of pizza sauce for extra dipping.

To Store: Allow the burgers to cool completely before placing them in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. They’ll stay fresh for up to 3-4 days.

These pizza burgers are the ultimate mashup! Between the juicy beef, melty cheese, and spicy pepperoni, they’re impossible to top!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean / 20% fat)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 16-24 slices pepperoni

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into 4 patties and set aside to rest.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan and the broiler to medium-high heat. Arrange the buns, cut side up, on a baking sheet, and toast until golden. Remove the top halves and set aside.
  • Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side.
  • While the burgers are cooking, warm the pizza sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally. Spread half of the sauce over the bottom buns and top with half of the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Place the cooked burger patties on the bottom half of the buns and top them with the remaining sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Broil until melty then place the top halves over the burgers.
  • Serve the pizza burgers immediately and enjoy.

  2. Looks as though there are two different recipes going on here. One for a patty and one as a loose meat sandwich. Either way looks absolutely delicious! But there are no instructions for the patty version. Please clarify or include instructions for the burger patty. Can’t wait to try this one!
