I came to this sight for the recipe that was pictured in the header, looks like puff pastry rounds. Did not see that recipe in the 26.
Hi, Marcie!
Those look like the bacon spinach pinwheels listed in this list of 20 spinach appetizers. (Number 11)
I’m not sure why they aren’t included in this round-up, though. I’ll ask beautyeval about it. 🙂
They also could be just regular spinach pinwheels. Here’s the recipe for those if you want it:
Ingredients
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, spinach, Parmesan, mozzarella, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
4. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border along one of the long edges.
5. Starting from the long edge opposite the border, tightly roll the pastry into a log, pinching the seam to seal.
6. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to make it easier to slice.
7. Remove the log from the refrigerator and slice it into 1/2-inch-thick pinwheels using a sharp knife.
8. Arrange the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
