These slutty brownies are so sinfully delicious you can’t have just one.
Layers of cookie dough, Oreos, and thick, fudgy brownies come together for an irresistible treat. They’re just beckoning you to take a bite!
Why Are They Called Slutty Brownies?
So, why the name? Well, originally, they were called “The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie N’ Oreo Fudge Brownie Bars”.
Quite a mouthful, right? Needless to say, it didn’t take long for someone to come up with something better.
When a London baker made the recipe, she decided they needed a naughtier name. One that lives up to their decadent sinfulness.
Hence, Slutty Brownies!
And thanks to store-bought cookie dough and a boxed brownie mix, they’re super easy to recreate.
You can have these guilty pleasures ready to devour in under an hour.
They’re gooey, warm, and so-devilish! It’s no wonder they’re described as “oh-so-easy, and more than a little bit filthy.”
Ingredients
To make the three distinct slutty brownie layers you need, wait for it. . . three ingredients!
Feel free to make everything from scratch. But if you want these fast, here’s what you’ll need:
- Chocolate chip cookie dough – Refrigerated dough is ready-to-go and fool-proof. Or use this simple chocolate chip cookie recipe.
- Oreos – I prefer double-stuffed Oreos, but I know some like the thins. It’s up to you.
- Brownies – Let’s just get this out of the way – boxed brownies are insanely good! They’re easy and delicious. But, if you want to make it from scratch, use this decadent brownie recipe.
How to Make Slutty Brownies from Scratch
It’s hard to make a cookie or brownie recipe to exactly match a pound of dough or a box of batter.
And if you have a too thick layer of one or the other, it won’t bake properly. So, if you go the from-scratch route, don’t worry about using it all.
Be sure to weigh out a pound of cookie dough and only add about an inch or two of batter over the Oreos.
Then, if you have leftover cookie dough or brownie batter:
- Make another batch of slutty brownies (in a smaller baking dish)
- Make a few cookies and mini brownies.
Can I Use Different Oreo Flavors in These Brownies?
Yes! You can use whichever flavor of Oreo you like.
I’ve actually made a batch using golden Oreos and some added caramel, and they were incredible.
I think mint Oreos would make a nice change, or maybe Birthday Cake.
Just keep in mind that the flavor needs to be paired with the rich chocolate of the brownie.
How to Make Slutty Brownies
I love layered desserts because you get all kinds of fun flavors and textures.
And nothing is more satisfying than chewy cookies, crunchy Oreos, and fudge brownies.
You’ll find more detailed instructions at the end of the post. For now, here are the highlights:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment.
2. Add the cookie dough. Press it into the bottom and try to make sure it’s even.
3. Add the Oreos. They’re best left whole, so you get more crunch.
4. Mix and layer the brownie batter. Just follow the box instructions. Then, pour it right over the Oreos.
5. Bake. Pop the baking dish on a tray and bake for 30-40 minutes.
6. Cool and Serve. Allow the brownies to cool fully for the best slices. Or, dive in while they’re soft and gooey.
Tips for the Best Brownies
Whether using ready-made dough and batter or making your own, there are a couple of little tricks that will make your slutty brownies perfect!
- Use a 9×9 baking dish. If you go any smaller, the layers won’t cook through. If you go any larger, the brownies will crisp up, losing the gooey finish.
- Allow the dough to reach room temperature. This will ensure the cookie dough cooks properly under the Oreos and brownie layers.
- Test for doneness. The edges pulling away from the sides is a good sign. Double-check by inserting a toothpick in the middle. If it comes out clean, it’s ready.
- Let the brownies cool completely. Otherwise, slicing will be a mess. But if you don’t mind that, just let them cool for 10 minutes so you don’t burn your tongue.
- Bake the cookie layer first. Nervous about the cookie dough baking? Bake that layer first (for about 10 minutes). Then, add the other layers and finish baking.
- Jazz them up. Top the brownie batter with chopped Oreos and extra chocolate chips for a bit of a wow factor.
- Get creative! Feel free to play with the cookie dough and brownie recipes. Add nuts or Reese’s pieces to make this over-the-top amazing!
- How about a layer of salted caramel? Or, even easier, add a layer of ready-made soft caramels under the brownie batter.
How to Store and Freeze Slutty Brownies
Leftover slutty brownies are the best! They’re ready for indulgence any time a craving strikes.
Fridge or freezer, keep a batch on hand with these steps:
To Store: Place cooled brownies in an air-tight container. Store at room temperature or refrigerate for a solid week.
To Freeze: Cut into squares and place cooled brownies in a Ziplock bag or air-tight container. They will last in the freezer for up to 6 months.
